Baking is one of my favorite pastimes, and I’ll often do it when I’m stressed in order to find calm and relax. Sometimes there’s even a “rivalry” between me and one of my friends who also loves to bake. I love exploring new recipes and trying new foods to bake and cook. However, sometimes it is nice to just take a break from the complicated, often stressful (ironic as I do this to de-stress...) recipes and take it back to the basics: simple cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and muffins.
Chewy sugar cookies are one of my favorite cookies to bake - and eat! Not only are they delicious and everyone’s favorite, they are super simple to make and don’t require any special ingredients or equipment. They are very popular during the holiday season, as they are also very customizable. You can roll them in different colored sugar, depending on the occasion or holiday. You can even turn them into snickerdoodles by rolling them in cinnamon sugar. I find that if I keep the cookies small enough I can easily make up to five dozen from just one batch. Make. Share. Enjoy!
